After a morning of sleet as we prepared to pull out, the drive was rain most of the trip. But we arrived safely, and decided to hunker down for the day and get some laundry done. The next day was much better and we went to the Alberta Forestry Interpretive Center for an interesting presentation on how the forestry industry has evolved over the years and how they are managing it today. Here are a couple of pictures of the old equipment and buildings from days past.
This is a picture of our SMART Caravan group.
We then to a tour of the Alberta Newsprint Company which is so automated that they only need about 200 workers on site and still produce enough paper to wrap the earth every 6 days. They ship it all over the world including China and Japan.
