Before entering Alaska, we stopped by Emerald Lake, which was beautiful even though the it was overcast, you could see the different shades of green. The pictures just don’t do it justice.
We also stopped at the Carmacks Desert. It is supposed to be a place where a glacier cut out an area that became a lake, then dried up, but nothing would grow there, so it turned into a sand pile, or desert. It did have some nice fine whitish sand (not as nice as Destin).
Finally we stopped at a wildlife display which had hundreds of stuffed animals on display. I took pictures of a bunch of them, but I will only show some of them here.
