But first, after leaving Dawson City, we had to take the ferry across the Yukon River to get to the Top Of the World Highway, cross the border back into the US, to get to Chicken. You could not be hooked up to your tow vehicle for the cross, so Lisa had to drive the Ford Ranger (with the help of Emma) onto the ferry while I drove the RV. That small white truck on the back of the ferry is Lisa.
The Top of the World Highway runs along the top of the mountain range, with thousands of feet drop offs and no guard rails. Lisa was white knuckled all the way. But I did talk her into taking a few pictures which turned out pretty awesome.
Then we arrived at Chicken Alaska for lunch. While waiting for our food, Lisa tried her hand at panning for gold. Of course I ordered the reindeer sausage.
A few other notes about the Yukon River crossing. The paddle wheeler crossed in front of us while we were crossing.
And a few more pictures of Chicken (population 6 during the summer and 2 during the winter).
