Canada Day 1 July 2019

Today was Canada’s Independence Day, but they just call it Canada Day.  We went down to the Whitehorse Town Center where they were exhibiting all kinds of crafts.  The event was held in and behind the Adaka Cultural Center.  It was very interesting to see the natives both exhibiting their skills by also teaching it.

They also held the Canada Day Parade which went straight through town.  We were so busy with the arts and crafts that we missed the beginning of the parade with the Royal Mounted Police Band with bagpipes and drums.  We could hear them and see the tops of their heads, but I didn’t get any video or pictures of them.  We finally made it to the Main Street and get pictures of a lot of it.
